UGC and content creation for events and brands

Most UGC creators are in their early 20s. Your customers aren't. I create authentic content for brands whose audiences align with millennial audiences: the kind that makes a 35-year-old think "that's me", not "that's for my younger sister".

As a 31-year-old based in Amsterdam, with 9+ years of marketing experience for well-known Dutch brands, I'm the target demographic for businesses that struggle to find relatable creators.

The content I create feels real because it is: no forced trends, always high quality, and created to drive engagement.

Here’s what full event promotion can look like

Capture on the day

Your event gets featured across the Events For Locals platform (Instagram, TikTok, and the events calendar) reaching a local audience that's already looking for things to do. This runs in the background and costs you nothing extra.

2. Pre-event hype content

Build anticipation before doors open. Teaser videos, countdown stories, behind-the-scenes peeks: content designed to make people feel like they'd be missing out if they don't come.

3. Live event content creation

I show up and capture the real thing: atmosphere, moments, people. Whether I blend into the background or help lead short interviews, the focus is always on authentic content that holds up after the hype has faded.

4. Post-event recap & content backlog

The event is over, but the content keeps working. A highlight reel draws in people who missed it. Evergreen clips get saved for future campaigns, announcements, or the next edition. Good events deserve a long tail.

Past Project: Badhus Collaboration

Badhus: Organic Social Content

Badhus is a sauna and wellness venue in Amsterdam Noord: the kind of place that attracts a 28–45 crowd who actually care about what they spend their time and money on. They needed content that captured the atmosphere: warm, tactile, worth saving.

I created a short-form video for Instagram Reels and TikTok. The content performed because it felt like it was made for the audience, not at them.

The Reel reached 206,000 views and 4,200 saves. The TikTok reached 108,000 views and 3,057 saves. All entirely organic with no paid promotion.

High save rates tell you people want to come back. For an event or venue, that's the difference between a scroll and a future booking.

FAQs

Is there a freelance content creator in Amsterdam Haarlem?

1

Yes! Events For Locals is a freelance content creator based in Haarlem, covering events, venues, and brand content across Haarlem and Amsterdam. For local businesses in Haarlem, working with a local creator means lower travel costs, faster turnaround, and someone who already understands the local audience.

How do I find a UGC creator in Amsterdam?

2

UGC creators in Amsterdam can be found through platforms like Modash, Insense, or Billo, or by searching Instagram and TikTok directly using location tags. For brands targeting a local Dutch audience, working with a creator based in Amsterdam or Haarlem means the content will feel genuinely local: the settings, references, and lifestyle cues will resonate with your audience in a way that generic UGC won't. Events For Locals offers UGC content creation from Amsterdam for lifestyle, hospitality, wellness, and culture brands.

How do I find someone to create content at my event in Amsterdam?

3

Look for a freelancer who specialises in event content rather than a general photographer: someone who shoots with social media in mind, not just for press or archives. Key questions to ask: Do they deliver short-form video as well as stills? What's the turnaround time? Do they post to their own channels as well as deliver files? A creator with an existing local audience is particularly valuable because your event gets organic reach on top of the content assets themselves.

What are the benefits of hiring a local content creator in Amsterdam or Haarlem?

4

A local creator knows the venues, the aesthetic of the city, and the audience. They can scout locations, understand the local cultural calendar, and create content that feels genuinely rooted in Amsterdam or Haarlem rather than generic. Practically, local also means lower or no travel costs, faster on-site response, and the ability to reshoot or add content at short notice. For events and hospitality brands especially, local knowledge is a genuine creative advantage. Events for Locals is a great option for brands looking to promote to 30+ audiences in Amsterdam or Haarlem.
